(BSC) Accounting and Finance

About this degree:
This degree gives you an understanding of accounting and finance that will be useful throughout your career focusing on accounting techniques alongside computational skills.

An international flavour developed in consultation with academics throughout south east Asia as well as the UK.

The degree has been designed by LSE academics in the department of accounting and finance.

(BSC) Accounting with Law
About this degree:
This degree combines elements of the accounting and finance degree with the LLB (Law programme offered by Kaplan Business School through the University of London external system).

Features of the degree:
Broad based preparation for a career in business.

Development of strong analytical and critical skills.

Development of sophisticated problem solving skills.

It will provide you with a good background in both accounting and law.

A career in accounting.
A career in commerce such as insurance, banking, sales and marketing.
A career working as a company secretary.


(BSC) Economics and Finance
About this degree:
This degree has been designed to provide the economic reasoning, quantitative skills and institutional knowledge required by financial economists to solve practical problems in finance.

Features of this degree:
A thorough programme grounded in quantitative economics and finance subjects.

Development of sought after economic reasoning skills.

Development of a very strong quantitative platform.

Knowledge and understanding of key national and international economic institutions.

Understanding of contemporary economic and financial issues.

Where does it lead?
A career as a financial economist whether in government or finance , investment or commercial banking, risk management, research, fund management or securities trading. The combination of economic reasoning, mathematical and other quantitative skills acquired should suit those interested in a career in consultancy or general management.


(BSC) Banking and Finance

This degree provides you with an understanding of the way in which financial intermediaries and institutions operate and the structure and functioning of financial markets.

Student Services for you – Academic Support
When you become a KBS student you may well be experiencing a wide range of new life and learning situations. You may be unfamiliar with these new academic and social experiences so we are here to help you. We would like you to feel like you belong so we are here to get you through these situations and changes in your life.

On an academic front the experiences may range from; different class rooms and lecture theatres, working individually or in groups, going to tutorials, seminars and lectures, working on projects, researching, using the library and the internet, study skills and new teaching styles. All of these can be daunting to even the most perpetual of student.

If you are having difficulties with your learning or are maybe dyslexic we have systems in place to make sure you make the most of your time here. Seeking out your tutor early on is a great way to start. They will be able to help you work to your strengths so you can optimise your time with KBS.

Pastoral Support
We aim to provide as much student support as possible to make sure you succeed in every way. We offer support that will help you develop your talents both academically, socially and creatively. You are welcome to come and talk to us at any time.

Advice and Guidance
We can advise you on finance and housing issues. If you need help with opening a bank account, finding a room, getting a loan, finding possible grants and benefits as well as your rights as a student we are here to help you.

Chaplaincy
Our Chaplain will offer personal and spiritual support whatever your faith. The Chaplain is available to anyone who needs a confidential , non judgemental listening ear. Maybe you just need someone to talk to. Help is always available. You are never alone.

Childcare
No matter what your situation we can offer advice and support to help your student experience be a successful one.

Counselling
We can offer confidential counselling. If there is anything stopping you enjoying life, preventing you from being a student, or a personal issue that you need help with get in touch as soon as possible. We are here to help.

We have a positive approach to everyone’s situation and needs. No one is different at KBS. Please contact us before you start to let us know how we can help. We will treat any issue in the strictest confidence. We understand every person and situation is different and we hope to offer advice on dyslexia.
